Mobile Navigation: small device, huge possibilities

Humans have been devising navigation systems for as long as they have been moving from A to B on this planet. Once they navigated by the stars, then by maps. Finally they developed route planners.

Digitization has allowed navigation to take a quantum leap forward. Mobile navigation devices are small but extremely versatile. They can be carried around like mobile phones in pockets, in the car and on a bicycle. They can help us to avoid traffic jams, calculate routes and determine positions. Visual signs and clear maps allow you to navigate to almost any destination.

Mobile navigation offers many advantages: one example

Mr. Smith is planning a business trip and has a lot of things he needs to organize. The less time he spends on planning his route, the more time he has for the finer things in life. The flight is booked and his bags are packed.

Mr. Smith uses his navigation device for his journey to the airport. He takes his navigation system with him to Melbourne. It will come in useful after he has picked up his hire car. He meets his business partner, Mr. Jones, at the appointed time. Later they agree to meet for dinner. Mr. Smith guides Mr. Jones through his home town using his navigation system. On the weekend, Mr. Smith decides to take a trip out into wine country and since he's a passionate biker he rents a motorbike. Once more the navigation system shows him the way to the nicest spots in the area.

Completely relaxed, Mr. Smith arrives home the following week.

The advantages of mobile navigation are obvious: it saves time and money, it is portable, and most importantly friendly and fun to use.
